My entry for the Fantasy Badge in the Pokemon Art League's art challenge. 
For anyone who doesn't know what the the Pokemon Art League is: it's a Pokemon-themed group here where you challenge the eight "gyms" and have them assign for you to draw something specific. They will then rate your finished work and give you a score based on how well you did. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes Pokemon and is interested in improving their art.
For this challenge, I was assigned by
simply to draw Slurpuff in a candy forest. No specific artstyle was required, so I decided to experiment with something new while I was at it and try to replicate the appearance of an old woodblock painting. To give the effect of looking like it's really made on wood, I had kept my strokes all in one diagonal direction, and I also wanted it to look as if it was a little worn out with age, so I used only light coloration and followed with a soft eraser going in the same diagonal direction to made it look lightly faded in some places as if the "paint" were slowly fading from the toll of time. I also used only the charcoal tool for the outlines, which is a little more rough than using pencils or pastels, to make it appear as if some of the paint has begun to chip off here and there. (Though it was kinda challenging to make it look naturally jaded without it appearing as if I'm just being sloppy as an artist. LOL)
